Core section:2072 people with a migrant background aged 14 and older (structured interviews)
BZgA-specific section:
An additional 600 young people between 14–17 were surveyed
Methodological approach / research design
- representative sample generation in co-operation with the Statistisches Bundesamt [Federal Office of Statistics] as well as the Statistische Landesämter [State Offices of Statistics] on the basis of code numbers from the micro-census of 2005;
- fully standardized, personal-oral interviews, duration approx. two hours.
- questions about fundamental attitudes, lifestyle, through which those surveyed can be assigned to the circles in question (factor analysis, cluster analysis);
- additional questions about the willingness to integrate, knowledge and use of the language, leisure activities, religious commitment etc.
- additional questions for young people about sexual experiences, sexuality education, the use of media, leisure activities etc.
