In spring / summer 2009 the Bundeszentrale für gesundheitliche Aufklärung (BZgA) commissioned a large-scale study of 14–17-year-olds and their parents for the seventh time. The representative survey ties in with the previous surveys on youth sexuality from 1980–2005. mehr

Adult contraceptive behaviour: results of the representative survey 2007

In 2007 the BZgA commissioned a representative survey asking women and men about their contraceptive behaviour/knowledge. At the core of this current survey is a repetition of the 2003 survey about adult contraceptive behaviour. New issues are addressed in this survey such as “long-term contraception” and “hormonal contraception for men”. mehr

Youth sexuality 2006: repeat survey of 14 to 17-year-olds and their parents

The BZgA has been analysing the attitudes and behaviour of young people regarding sex education, sexuality and contraception for 25 years: the young people surveyed in first study of 1980 have become the parent generation of today’s young people. The most recent survey, conducted in 2005, continued the task of measuring trends: the current study is the sixth of its kind. This time a large sample of 2,497 young people aged between 14 and 17 and their parents were questioned. mehr

  • Youth sexuality 2001: repeat survey For more than 20 years the BZgA has been investigating and analyzing young people’s attitudes and behaviour with regard to sex education, sexuality and contraception. Intra-family factors play a significant role in this regard and for that reason the parents were also interviewed. What has changed over the past years?
