Need for action in pregnancy conflicts
Starting position and central questions
Research into the backgrounds of unwanted pregnancies and into the decision-making behaviour in the event of an unwanted pregnancy forms the basis of developing a more precise understanding of the needs of those affected and concluding what kind of measures are needed. The Bundeszentrale für gesundheitliche Aufklärung commissioned the Institut für Angewandte Sexualwissenschaft (institute of applied sexology) at the Hochschule Merseburg (FH) to deliver an expert report. The goal is to address and justify the potential need for further research in more detail and to develop suggestions for methodological implementation.

These are just some of the questions this expert report, commissioned by the Bundeszentrale für gesundheitliche Aufklärung (BZgA), investigates. In addition to researching the literature, a qualitative pilot study interviewed semi-professional individuals and volunteers working in athletics clubs.

In 1995 the BZgA commissioned an expert report on “sex-education work with girls”. The results of practical research as well as a search of the literature in 1998 showed changes in the size of the target group, the subjects and approaches etc., so that in 1999 a second report was commissioned.

Gender questions in male-dominated organizations: experiences with the training course “Acting in Partnership” in the Bundeswehr (German armed forces)
With the project “Acting in Partnership – Project Area Bundeswehr” a concept originally developed for the in-house training of young people was tested for the first time in an organization in which men traditionally far outnumber women. The survey presents the results of the scientific accompanying research.
